Soccer cold

A bitter wind blew through my three layers, and I don’t know how the girls survived, most of them in t-shirts and shorts. We had the large central field, so we played one team against the other. The Magentas dominated, especially on offense, (Shizuka, Moeka, Hannah and Ellen) though Steph and Sheyna amazed us with their stubborn insistence on clearing the ball away from the attackers. All in all, most players impressed us with their ability to keep their positions and yet attack the ball. Now, we can be hopeful that our efforts and theirs, will pay off.

Laughing with Kennedi

We sat around the table after finishing our chicken mozzarella (cooked by Jing!), reading from our short journals the humorous tales of our daughters (and retelling a few about Tessa). The girls loved them. Leanne had some from her can (paper versions), and I from the Touch and the laptop (back that up now!).

Then, as I began reading a humorous piece of mistranslations, I burst into laughter so strong I couldn’t stop, and Tessa joined me, both of us rolling on the floor (figuratively).

How fun.

Erin and I took Kennedi home, after getting gas and a car wash. The night view of the city from art gallery road always takes my breath away. For just a moment, I relive that feeling that comes from entering a new foreign country, like I’ve never been there before and every sense is filled. Kinda like walking through the streets of Hanoi.
